“Ukraine’s Thorny Path to the European Union: Sectoral Insights and Future Prospects”

Ukraine has decidedly embarked on the path to EU membership. The process of Ukraine’s European integration is highly dynamic, but there are also many challenges. This policy dialogue between academics and practitioners sheds light on EU-Ukraine relations and current developments in key sectors, such as trade, intellectual property rights, education, as well as the movement of people and their (re)integration. It aims at taking stock, identifying obstacles and discussing potential solutions.
The event is part of the project “Lowering the Bar? Compliance Negotiations and the EU-Ukraine Association Agreement”, funded by the Research Council of Norway. The project partners from the University of Agder, Anne Pintsch and Maryna Rabinovych, and UCU, Galyna Protsyk and Nataliya Haletska, invite scholars, students, civil servants, diplomats, representatives of business and non-governmental organisations, and other stakeholders to participate either in person or online. The event will take place in English and is free of charge. Coffee breaks and a lunch are included for the physical participants.
